RULES

1. Respect one another in words and actions

2. Listen to your leaders

3. No electronic devices (cell phones, mp3 players, etc.)

4. Bring your Bible (if you don't have one, we'll get you one!)

5. Participate in all activities

6. Wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes for Games

7. Clean up after yourself at dinner

Student are awarded points for following these rules. Points earn shares which are spent on prizes in the AWANA store, held quarterly.

If your child's behavior interrupts the activities of AWANA to the point of having to be sent home, your child will be required to stay home from the following AWANA meeting.

It is our desire for AWANA to be an exiting time of learning for your child. Please share these rules with your child to make his or her AWANA experience the best!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is AWANA?
I am glad you asked! AWANA is a club at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church that leads children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and equips them to share the Good News of Jesus with their friends and family. AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed."

Can my child attend?
Yes! If your child is ages 2-6th grade, we would love to see your child.

All of our teachers* are excited about the opportunity to share Jesus with your child. Each classroom has multiple leaders and your child's safety is our top concern. Our leaders are ready to build lasting relationships with your child. Please say "Hi" if you see us around town!

Do you have transportation?
Yes, but we have very limited space. Due to time restraints and maneuverability, our bus stops:

Parkview Garden Apartments

500 South Atlanta Street

(In front of Building H)

We also have a church van that picks up children in the Shaw Quarters area. If you need transportation in these neighborhoods, please email or call us.

BUS RULES

1. Remain seated at all times

2. No yelling out the windows

3. Respect the driver and speak quietly

4. Be respectful of adult leaders on the bus

5. No food or drinks

Transportation is a privilege. Behavior problems on the bus or van will result in a loss of this privilege.

If you bring your child to AWANA, please plan to pick your child up, as we cannot insure there will be space on the bus or van for a ride home.

What activities will my child be doing?
Your child is going to be busy! We start each evening in the sanctuary for Opening Ceremonies. Classes are dismissed to have Bible study, learn memory verses, and share stories. Puggles and Cubbies have a light snack. Sparks and T&T go to the gym for AWANA games around the AWANA square. This is a great time to burn off some energy! They will finish each night with a meal and should be picked up from the gym by 7:00 PM.

How much does it cost?
Nothing! Thomas Memorial Baptist Church fully funds this program. We feel that it is important for every child to get a chance to hear the message of Christ. However, we ask that you are committed to sending your child each week as we invest significant time and money into this ministry.

*All adults in the TMBC AWANA program have complied and passed background check requirements.
